Pocket braille frames
Keeping a braille frame in your pocket or bag can be handy when shopping. You can add a note to a receipt, mark up bank notes, label an item you have purchased or make short notes. Choose from the upward writing Braille King pocket frame or the traditional writing Mini-slate notebook braille frame.
Drawing with your Perkins brailler
Producing outline pictures on a Perkins brailler helps with spatial awareness and understanding pictorial representation, and is a lot of fun. This book contains step-by-step instructions for creating 36 drawings, including simple shapes, more complex pictures such as elephants and trains, and designs for Valentine and Christmas cards. Both the braille and print versions of the book include the actual dotty pictures to show the completed drawings. Price: £19.99 each.

Did you know?
There are over 500 local and independent talking newspapers across the United Kingdom - mainly run by volunteers. They record local news and information into audio format including cassette tapes, CDs or through the internet. Many of the talking newspapers work with the Talking Newspaper Federation (TNF). So if you're interested in finding out about the availability of a local talking newspaper in your area visit their site and search through their online database.
Leisure, vocational and professional magazines
RNIB has over 30 accessible leisure and vocational magazines covering a wide range of topics and audiences. From magazines for children and young people to ones for adults specialising in technology, politics, physiotherapy, shopping, literature, puzzles, music and more. These magazines are all compiled from several original print sources to give readers a really good selection of articles in their chosen interest. For example Upbeat, our magazine for music lovers takes articles from Uncut, Classic Rock and Mojo. While Aphra, our magazine for women comprises articles from Cosmopolitan, She and Marie Claire. The content for The Practical Lawyer is drawn from Estates Gazette, The In-House Lawyer, New Law Journal and All England Law Reports.
RNIB also offers four magazines for professionals containing original material, not published anywhere else, which focus on aspects of sight loss: NB is for all sight loss and eye health professionals; Insight is for parents and teachers; Access is the UK's leading magazine on inclusive design for professionals, campaigners and businesses interested in best practice and Vision is our exclusive membership magazine for people with sight problems.
Buying and borrowing books
RNIB publishes audio, braille and large print editions of titles originally published in print by other publishers, which includes fiction and non-fiction books, braille music manuscripts and accessible maps.
You can search titles that are available to buy using the Book shop catalogue. We also have a wide range of Daisy books for sale and if you join the BookStream book club you can listen to Daisy audio book titles via your computer.
RNIB National Library Service is the largest specialist library in the UK with titles available for readers with sight loss to borrow. You can browse through the Library catalogue where you will find titles available for loan or sale, including a collection of books in Moon.
RNIB also publishes a range of books, videos and DVDs for professionals working with adults and children who have sight problems. They offer information about good practice and cover topics such as health and social care, education, employment and design.
